Sustainable Farming
Impact Update: Driving Sustainable Agriculture and Inclusive Growth Across East Africa
The DigiFarmer ecosystem continues to deliver strong environmental and social impact by helping farmers transition to more sustainable and profitable farming practices. Month-to-date, over 800 tons of chemical fertilizers have been replaced with organic inputs, improving soil health, reducing environmental pollution, and lowering production costs for smallholder farmers. This shift supports better soil moisture retention and long-term farm productivity, strengthening resilience against climate change.
Economic and social gains are also growing across our network.
To date, 6,800 farms have achieved organic certification, allowing farmers to access premium markets and earn 10–28 percent higher prices. At the same time, women and youth participation has reached 52 percent of our value chain, moving steadily toward our 60 percent target. By combining sustainability with inclusion, DigiFarmer is building stronger rural livelihoods and more resilient food systems across East Africa.
