From Vanity Metrics to Verified Farmers

It is easy for an agricultural platform to say it has reached thousands or even millions of farmers. We believe the more important question is: how many of those farmers can actually be verified, contacted and served? This month we tightened our reporting standards across DigiFarmer. Sachin introduced a simple rule to the field team: if a farmer does not have a valid mobile number, that farmer should not count toward our verified numbers. Farmer records are increasingly being uploaded into the DigiFarmer ecosystem, while teams are also testing SMS verification and digital onboarding. Teams including Mugume Geoffrey and Obalim Thomas recently reached roughly 972 farmers across around 16 cooperatives. Our reported numbers may become more conservative. But they will also become significantly more valuable. Because verified farmer relationships not registrations but create real distribution.
