How DigiFarmer soil testing works

From the request to the advice on your phone: what happens when you ask for a soil test.
1. Ask
Request a soil test in the DigiFarmer app, through a field agent, or by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to DigiFarmer. You get a reference number.
2. Choose the test
- Device test: a field agent scans the soil on your farm with a portable sensor. The results are sent to the app.
- Laboratory test: the agent collects a sample for a full laboratory analysis and report.
3. Get the results
The results are saved to your farm record: acidity, nutrients and moisture, with advice on lime and fertiliser for the crop you plan to grow.
4. Use them
Buy only the inputs your field needs. Your test results also count towards your farm record when you apply for financing.
